Paid Student Placement Opportunity – Engineering
September 2024 - August 2025
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a University student to spend a year working in our Engineering team supporting a Manufacturing and Packaging division of a global pharmaceutical company.

The Engineering team support the facilities and equipment within Eisai Manufacturing Ltd (EML). EML manufactures tablets/capsules and packages them along with liquid filled vials and bottles on high speed Packaging lines for distribution to over 70 countries across the globe.
The team:
The team is expanding and currently consists of around 38 members, comprising skilled Technicians and Engineers to maintain the Production equipment and to execute committed projects that will help EML realise its forecasted volume growth in the years ahead.
The role:
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead and support a range of engineering projects and continuous improvement initiatives that will provide an abundance of learning opportunities, enhancing their professional career development in a highly regulated industry. They will be embedded within the engineering team for support.
The intern will be given the opportunity to work with an engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME) to enhance their real life application of their field of study.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Leading engineering projects (up to ~£150,000)
- Supporting engineering projects (up to ~£2,000.000)
- Leading manufacturing / packaging continiuous improvement activities
- Managing engineering and quality change control documentation
- Coordinating external engineering contractors / consultants
- Writing technical reports
- Commissioning and testing equipment and engineering systems
- Supporting ‘Smart factory’ initiatives

Skills/experience required:
Sandwich placement or recent engineering graduate from an EC accredited engineering degree course: Mechatronics/Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical/Building Services/Process/Project Management
