Internal Audit at Currys is responsible for delivering a broad plan of work to evaluate the effectiveness of the Group’s framework of governance, risk management and internal control. The function covers all business operations across the Currys Group in the UK and overseas, including operations run by strategic third-party partners.
Reporting to the Group Head of Internal Audit and working alongside internal audit managers, the successful candidate will plan, execute and report on internal audits of business units, processes, IT systems, transformation programmes and identified areas of risk exposure across Group businesses.
The team sits inside the broader Group Internal Audit, Risk and Insurance function and has a strong track record and reputation as a trusted advisor to senior management and leaders at Currys,
As part of this role, you’ll be responsible for:
- Support, and where required, lead on Internal Audit reviews across the Group, from the scoping and planning of individual audits through to reporting findings to management
- Identify pragmatic and right sized improvements to the existing framework of control, being able to persuade management on the benefits and practicalities of implementation;
- Identify areas of good practice, process improvements and weaknesses
- Build strong relationships across the business
- Support the wider work of the Internal Audit team, such as periodic reporting to the Audit Committee and continuous improvement actions to increase the effectiveness of the team;
- Be flexible and take on ad-hoc advisory or investigatory work as required;
- Work closely with our co-source partners (EY) and external auditors (KPMG);
You will need:
- Achieved a recognised professional finance and/or internal audit qualification (CA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CMIIA)
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong influencing skills, including confidence in dealing with leadership team and executive committee members.
- Excellent time and project management skills
- An understanding of risk, processes, and controls
- Good Word, Excel and Powerpoint skills. Knowledge of PowerBI would be highly desirous.
- The ability to work up within the environment of an established team
