As the Internal Communications Specialist, you will help define and execute Internal Communication strategy for IT and Finance functional areas and identified change projects.
You will develop and deliver communications plans and activities for individual change projects to drive awareness, alignment and adoption in support of Johnson Matthey’s transformation communications strategy.
You will deliver Group-wide, proactive Internal Communication and engagement strategies to support the effective execution of strategic, commercial and operational plans and the delivery of our OneJM ambition, purpose and strategy. You will work collaboratively to translate Internal Communication and engagement activities related to IT and Finance, for use in all parts of the business, ensuring consistency of message and approach while allowing for individual market dynamics.
This Internal Communications Specialist contributes to the team goal of increasing clarity, alignment, employee engagement and advocacy across the Johnson Matthey organisation.

Your responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver communications and engagement plan and activities for individual change/ transformation projects to build awareness, understanding and adoption by stakeholder groups, as part of the overall change approach
- Support Programme Sponsors and Leads in the planning, development and delivery of effective two-way engagement and communications
- Provide input to overall transformation communications and campaigns with the Head of Transformation Communications to drive awareness and alignment with stakeholder groups across Johnson Matthey
- Internal communication support for specified IT and Finance functional areas supporting and providing appropriate counsel
- Creation and implementation of the Internal Communication and engagement plans to support relevant function as part of ‘OneJM’ initiatives, issues, announcements and projects
- Provide ongoing feedback on impact of cultural change and leadership engagement on colleague sentiment to functional leadership to support business decision-making
- Work closely with HR teams to ensure Internal Communication and engagement programmes are complementary and track and assess colleague engagement including the impact of strategic project
Requirements for the role:
- Educated to degree level and/or have commensurate experience in internal transformation / change communications
- Experience developing organisational transformation objectives into communications and engagement deliverables for targeted activities across a range of different channels and media platforms
- Excellent writing, copywriting, editing, and proofreading skills
- Experience working effectively in a matrix model involving multiple contributors
- Experience of new technologies including all typical MS Office applications, MS SharePoint based websites/portals, Yammer, Photoshop or similar (desirable)
- Self-starter with the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment whilst prioritising and balancing conflicting demands
- Collaborative, consultative, inclusive working style, with the ability to build strong working relationships, work with and positively influence leaders and audiences throughout the organisation
