International Science Partnership Fund (ISPF) Hours: Full time or Part time (minimum 0.8 hours per week) Contract Type: Fixed Term (Until 31st March 2025) Location: Polaris House, Swindon, Wiltshire. In this exciting role you will provide programme management for MRC’s ISPF funding programme, including formalising and continuously improving our governance and reporting, and shaping our approach to implementing overseas funding activities. Working closely with the MRC Head of European and International Partnerships and the MRC’s Programme Managers you will be responsible for the delivery of individual ISPF activities to ensure the successful delivery of the portfolio. This role will focus on operations and policy: coordinating the delivery of a complex range of research funding activities, research management and partnership development activities to ensure the successful delivery of the MRC’s ISPF Portfolio. The post-holder will work with a broad range of colleagues with responsibility for governance, policy, risks, finance, funding assurance, delivery of funding programmes and delivery of monitoring and evaluation, in order to ensure development and delivery of a robust programme. You will also have the opportunity to help shape the future of the MRC’s international partnerships - engaging with international partners and programmes, informing our strategic direction and improving our ways of working to ensure the successful delivery of current and future high impact international collaborations with key overseas partners. Person Requirements Relevant degree or demonstrable equivalent experience. Experience of planning, managing and delivering activities/ programmes/ projects Excellent organisational skills, with an ability to plan, prioritise, and progress multiple work streams at the same time. Experience of stakeholder management, ideally with international partners Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to show initiative, cope with ambiguity, and operate independently in an evolving environment. Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with internal and external colleagues at a variety of levels. Ability to take accountability and proactively deliver objectives and outcomes of own work (supporting the wider team) through planning, prioritising and delivering with minimum supervision. Experience of working in research and/ or innovation environment or scientific training and demonstration of an understanding of the sector Effective collaborator and team member, actively establishing excellence working relationships and networks to enhance work output.
