Summary:
As a key member of the Capital, Estates and Facilities (CEF) Strategy and Governance Team, the post holder will be responsible for providing a business intelligence service to the CEF Senior Leadership Team and operational CEF services, identifying business needs, processes and risks. Successful delivery of this role will require communication with a wide range of stakeholders, both internal and external, the extraction and analysis of data from various CEF and Trust information systems and the professional presentation of data in various formats to support CEF, Trust-wide and national reporting.
Must be a car driver and willing to attend Trust meetings to represent the Directorate across all Trust sites and elsewhere.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and deliver SQL based performance dashboards for management.
- To be responsible for the production of regular reports and analysis to meet the needs of the performance management agenda, local services, commissioners, and the Senior Leadership Team.
- This will require the ability to develop relationships with the Directorate's systems managers (e.g., INPHASE, NHS Staff Survey, ESR, Integra, MICAD, Symbiotics, NIMBUS, NET2) and be able to formulate intricate queries to extract data from the digital systems creating a data warehouse using SQL, Excel, Reporting Services, and data visualisation tools such as Tableau and PowerBI.
- To respond to ad-hoc requests for information ensuring that responses are produced in a timely manner and are consistent with existing published information.
- Create and maintain project documentation to specified standards. These may include business cases, Project Initiation Documents (PIDs), briefs, plans, logs, reports, and communications.
- Prepare and configure system workflows using tools provided. Prepare, configure and secure SharePoint groups, folders, lists and views.
- Configure dashboards and automated alerts to capture and highlight potential data issues.
Required Experience/Qualification:
- Educated to post graduate degree level in a related discipline or significant relevant and recent experience, querying Microsoft SQL server or equivalent.
- Experience of developing intricate queries to extract data using SQL, Excel, Reporting Services etc. Ability to build xml import routines.
- Experience of working with and building dashboards in a data visualisation tool such as Tableau or PowerBI.
- Knowledge and expertise in data manipulation, analysis, and presentation of detailed data.
- Must demonstrate resource management (people, time and cost), risk management and change management experience.
- Able to look at table structures and identify how data is used by a system to generate business output and to identify the data input and quality required to maintain accurate data records.
This role may require you to show evidence of education to Degree level or at least 2 years relevant experience.
