This is a permanent full-time role. Primarily working from home with client visits 2-3 times a week across the UK.

As ASK4’s newest Midlands Field Engineer you will work alongside our team of second-line engineers and IT project Consultants to plan and carry out IT installations at ASK4 client sites, you will complete regular service updates and support as well as complete ad-hoc or emergency fixes.
What you’ll be doing:
- Attend site-based project meetings with ASK4 colleagues and clients/contractors as required to assist with project work. You will primarily work with clients across the West Midlands / Midlands area.
- Manage your diary and schedule.
- Assist with and prepare installation documentation, including risk assessments and client notes. Keeping records up to date.
- Support sub-contracted installation teams during installation of cabling or specialist IT fit-out, as well as data networking and telecoms equipment.
- Carrying out testing and commissioning of equipment and services.
- Attending pre-scheduled clinics, around the UK as required, to provide IT support services and break/fix services to clients and their teams as required.
- Liaise with the Service Desk to ensure that tickets that can be completed on-site by a Field Presence are completed whilst attending on-site.
- Providing feedback to clients during the clinics, logging all work and ticketing as required.
- Attending sites, often at short notice or also when pre-planned, to provide site IT support to the clients for break/fix or planned delivery work
- This may include rolling out new hardware on site, and managing the expectations of clients whilst liaising with the Hardware Engineers and Service Desk at HQ
- Providing additional support to 2nd Line and IT Project Consultants when on site as required, both remotely and in person.
- When not on Field visits, providing support to clients remotely.
- Logging of tickets, ticket resolution, support to 2nd and 1st line teams, and preparing hardware for site visits.
- Accurate note taking, ticket logging, and aiding the Service Desk with technical support with whatever is required to best serve the clients and support colleagues.
Our ideal candidate will:
- Have the ability to engage with colleagues and clients on IT issues at a networking and server/domain level.
- Have IT/Networking/Telecoms experience.
- Be able to build strong working relationships with clients.
- Have experience Managing/liaising with suppliers.
- Be able to manage conflicting priorities.
- Have IT experience in the following areas: Networking, Domain and Server, Office 365, hardware build/repair, Wifi and connectivity, and phone systems.
- Be Process oriented, Passionate, ambitious and conscientious.
- Be Flexible to accommodate peaks in workload and the potential need to travel further afield.
- Flexibility to work away from home for extended periods.
- A Full Clean Driving license is essential for this role.
