Purpose of the role:
This role sits within the existing IT Support Team who provide support for circa 600 users, on approximately 800 devices across two sites. You will maintain internal endpoint devices and services within a predominantly MS Windows and HP based environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to internal Helpdesk requests for desktop, laptop, network connectivity, telephony, print, endpoint software, general IT support, including installing and configuring new endpoint devices
- User and Computer account JML activities
- Assist with new projects, initiatives, and application roll outs.
- Provide support to the existing user base, both in-house and remotely
- Support the implementation of new systems and services
- Triage, manage and prioritise helpdesk workload based on severity and impact
- Configure systems for new users including hardware, software, and telephones
- Carry out hardware repair and upgrades for workstations, laptops, and servers
- Participate in staff inductions and training events. Building internal & external Relationships
- Daily contact with IT Support lead to ensure departmental commitments are met
- Work alongside existing IT Support Engineers and the rest of the IT team
- Interface with all Ceres Power employees, partners, and visitors to provide on-going support as appropriate
Knowledge and skills required for the role:
- Several years experience within an IT Support role in a Windows endpoint-based environment
- Excellent general laptop/desktop hardware skills
- MS Windows 10/11, MS Office 2016/365
- M365 platform experience
- MS Windows Server, Active Directory / DNS / DHCP / Group Policy
- Strong technical problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills Desirable
- Familiarisation with Azure
- PowerShell Proficiency
- Exposure to MS SQL
- Microsoft Teams
- Experience of Linux
