Job description

Kelly Group have an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and technology focussed IT department as a highly experienced infrastructure Support Engineer / Systems Administrator.

Focussed primarily on third line IT support and administration, you will be working on a variety of infrastructure projects as well as assisting the 1st and 2nd line teams with any escalations and support whilst ensuring good general networking experience across a range of platforms.

The role involves supporting, monitoring and implementing Microsoft, SaaS, 365, Azure, LAN & WAN services/architecture so strong experience in on-prem and cloud networks is essential.

Experience & Responsibilities:

  • · Experience in a general 3rd Line Technical Support (System Admin Experience beneficial).
  • · Solid overall on-premise networking experience.
  • · Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 & Azure administration, maintenance and best practices.
  • · PowerShell Scripting Experience essential.
  • · Strong understanding working with MDM platforms (Mobileiron would be ideal).
  • · Strong Windows Server Experience. (Troubleshooting/Deployments - Virtualized and Dedicated.
  • · Strong Server hardware experience (Upgrades and Troubleshooting).
  • · Strong storage array experiences (NAS, iScsi, Raid Arrays).
  • · Strong understanding working with Active Directory Hybrid Environments (Migration experience would be ideal).
  • · Solid experience working with security applications and XDR/EDR services (Threat prevention, AV, Firewall, Windows update services and associated software clients).
  • · Experience in working with site to site links and leased lines.
  • · Experience implementing and working with Firewalls such as Fortinet.
  • · Strong Switch & Router experience (Multiple vendors).
  • · Experience working with Virtualisation (VMWare or Hyper-V) – Upgrade experience would be beneficial.
  • · Experience working with SAN’s and other related technologies.
  • · Backup Product experience (SaaS & Local).
  • · Experience troubleshooting and deploying Window servers (virtualized and dedicated).
  • · Experience troubleshooting network switches, routers and firewalls.
  • · Experience troubleshooting and deploying IP Phone systems – VOIP/SIP (Multiple Vendors).
  • · Strong understanding of TCPIP / DNS / DHCP & Layer 3 Routing.
  • · Wi-Fi technology experience – Ubiquiti/Meraki (other vendor’s beneficial).
  • · Strong experience monitoring LAN’s and associated infratsurcture.
  • · Provide onsite, remote (when required) and telephone support.
  • · Support 1st and 2nd line teams as and when required.
  • · Working with IT Helpdesk platforms to ensure tickets are looked into and escalated as and when needed.
  • · Occasional (and minimal) out of hours work to minimise disruption to end-users.
  • · Working on IT infrastructure projects in a variety of areas.
  • · Working closely with Group IT Manager.
  • · Passionate for technology & networks desirable.
  • · Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • · Strong ability to multi task and prioritize technical issues.
  • · Strong network troubleshooting experience.
  • · Good documentation skills.
  • · Personable, with the ability to build rapport with the IT support team and the user base.
  • · The successful candidate will be a punctual and thorough worker, with astute attention to detail.
  • · IT qualifications will be an advantage.
  • · A valid UK driving licence is essential.
