- As a part of the Service Desk Team, collaborate with your colleagues to manage the daily operations of our service desk.
- Create and maintain high-quality documentation that benefits both users and IT colleagues.
- Evaluate and assign incident tickets within the service desk software system to ensure a smooth workflow.
- Offer first and secondary-level support to users, which includes addressing issues related to IT hardware, software, Audio-Visual support, computer and printer management, and user accounts, primarily within a Microsoft Windows environment.
- Effectively manage a caseload of service incidents and requests ensuring that all are handled accurately whilst maintaining a high standard of service.
- Install and provide support for commercial software packages and peripherals as needed.
- Solve non-standard issues, drawing upon your own experience, which may include troubleshooting complex software problems and identifying dependencies.
- Collaborate and communicate with external suppliers and engineers.
- Collaborate with the Teaching Support IT Officer to support teaching activities across the Department.
Selection Criteria:
- Previous experience as a member of an IT team.
- Experience in hardware and software installation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution within Windows operating systems.
- Comprehensive and practical knowledge of Windows desktop environments.
- Effective organisational and time-management abilities.
- A customer-centric approach, with a constant focus on meeting the department's expectations for quality IT support.
- Proficient written communication skills, including the capability to create user guides, write procedures, and generate reports.
- Desktop support experience.
