Information Technology Support Technician
The purpose of this role will be to assist the Head of Corporate Services to work with the organisations IT maintenance provider and other third-party contractors. You will lead in the delivery of the ongoing IT Roadmap, manage IT licensing, policies, and inventory of equipment.
There will also be an expectation to provide IT support and training to company staff.
The position will you require you to be in office 3-4 days a week with the remainder of the time working from home across standard office hours Monday-Friday
Experience
Essential:
IT support.
MS Office 365 support and administration experience.
Windows Desktop Support (Windows 10+) and deployment experience (Windows 7 - latest).
Desirable:
Worked in a fast-paced office with changing priorities.
Experience of working in a public services environment.
Knowledge
Essential:
Administration, troubleshooting, and support in the following:
SharePoint, Exchange, Teams, and Windows Servers
Active Directory, Azure AD, and Group Policy management
Strong Microsoft 365 experience, Endpoint/Intune device management
User management, account creation/deletion, licensing management
Asset/Inventory management
Mobile device management
Hyper-V server experience
Advanced IP networking - demonstrable knowledge and skills - VLANs, routing, switching, firewalls, and VPN
Ubiquiti managed wi-fi
Desirable:
Understanding of public services structure, governance and procedures.
Experience delivering solutions/processes to enhance Cyber Security within an organisation.
Ability to identify system weaknesses and work with external partners to deliver solutions to enhance the security and performance of IT systems/networks.
Qualifications
Essential:
Good general education particularly in English, Maths, and IT.
Windows Certifications in Windows Server, Windows Desktop, 365 Administration.
Networking qualifications (CompTIA N+).
Desirable:
ECDL or equivalent.
Responsibilities
Support the Corporate Services Manager to work in collaboration with SCC’s IT maintenance provider.
Provide first and second line IT support to staff.
Deliver staff IT training as required.
Escalate IT support tickets and work with IT providers
Point of contact for third party IT providers
Strategic decision making on the future of the digital roadmap
Manage and maintain software licensing.
Create and update technical systems documentation, such as maintenance systems, as required.
Issue staff with electronic equipment such as laptops, desk telephones, and mobile phones as required, and manage the equipment inventory.
