The Role

We are looking for a Junior HR Business Partner, with previous experience gained in a fast-paced environment, ideally within the PR, Marketing/Communications or Media sectors.

This position will sit within the Weber Shandwick UK People Team, Business Partnering a designated number of Client Groups across the UK in London, Manchester, Glasgow and Edinburgh; with a secondary focus supporting our DEI People Lead with our Diversity, Equity & Inclusion initiatives.

The skill set for success in this role is a professional, pragmatic and customer-focused HR generalist, with a strong background working on Employee Relations in a complex and fast- paced environment. We would also expect the successful candidate to have a passion to see value-add projects through from conception to delivery, being proactive and autonomous along the way.

What will you be doing?

Working with the People Leads and other Advisors within the wider Weber Shandwick People team, you will provide support in a range of areas including:

  • Provide general HR support and advice across the full employee lifecycle including recruitment, onboarding, probation, employee relations, appraisals, training, employee queries, and exit procedures.
  • Partner with Client Group Leads across the business to manage day to day people issues offering pragmatic solutions to resolve issues in a timely manner. Collaborate and engage with the wider HR team to provide a responsive, consistent, and forward-thinking HR advice.
  • Lead on the development of our People data and analysis, i.e. working with the Advisors to identify Exit Interview trends and recommendations.
  • Support and advise managers a variety of employee relations cases (for example performance management, redundancy, disciplinary, grievance and appeal meetings); escalating highly complex cases as required.
  • Assist with the recruitment process, utilising internal ATS (Greenhouse) to input roles and working with the TA team and hiring managers to ensure briefs are filled quickly and with the strongest candidates.
  • Act as first line of support for dealing with and responding to queries for your Client Groups (for example employment law, flexible working, leavers, maternity, paternity, grievances, disciplinaries and performance management).
  • Oversee the Advisor's management of the probation process, including taking People Managers through the process and keeping up to date on employee progress, ensuring all probation meetings and corresponding paperwork is done in a timely manner.
  • Coach People Managers through effective appraisal reviews, and training on the system used.
  • Proactively manage long-term or repetitive absence including occupational health assessments and group income protection policy cases in conjunction with the Payroll & Benefits team.
  • Oversee the monthly payroll processes required to be completed by HR Shared Services team, overseeing the Advisors to ensure changes are completed in a timely and accurate manner for a successful sign off.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the HR function, overseeing the Advisors and making improvements to our processes to ensure they are efficient and ensure we are providing excellent client service.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships to support all stakeholders.
