By joining Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland (CHSS) as a Kindness Call Coordinator, you can be the difference between people just surviving and really living.
You will be part of Scotland’s leading charity providing support to people with chest, heart and stroke conditions to live life to the full again. Our Community Healthcare Support Services form a nationwide network of local support groups, nurses, volunteers and one-to-one support teams helping families adjust to life with a heart or lung condition or after a stroke.
The role of the Kindness Call Coordinator is to manage a telephone support service operating across the country, assisting those living with our conditions, who have become lonely or socially isolated.
Our Kindness Call Service is designed to provide a listening ear and an opportunity for those using the service to talk about what matters to them, helping to alleviate feelings of loneliness and isolation and supporting them to live life to the full. Our trained kindness volunteers make regular calls, forming reassuring and encouraging relationships and are supported by the Kindness Call Coordinator.
We are looking for someone with a positive attitude towards people with disabilities and long-term conditions; an understanding of the challenges faced by people with cardiac, respiratory and stroke conditions as well as Long Covid; an understanding of community service provision; the ability to recruit, manage and motivate a team of volunteers; and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
As this post is not a face-to-face role, applicants can be situated anywhere in the country.
