Lab Technician (School Based)

We are recruiting a talented Lab Technician to join a Secondary School Academy in Northampton, renowned for its fantastic facilities and an environment that fosters rich learning experiences.

You will play a pivotal role in supporting the science department and ensuring the smooth operation of our well-equipped laboratories. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and efficient environment for both staff and students.

This is a full-time position, with a short-term contract, starting on 26/02/2024 and finishing on 28/03/2024.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and set up equipment and materials for science experiments and practical lessons.
• Ensure the safe storage and disposal of chemicals and hazardous materials.
• Collaborate with science teachers to provide technical support during lessons.
• Carry out routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.
• Uphold health and safety standards within the laboratory environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Relevant qualifications in a scientific discipline.
• Proven experience as a Lab Technician or a similar role.
• Familiarity with health and safety protocols in a laboratory setting.
• Ability to manage and organise laboratory resources effectively.
