Your new roleAn exciting new opportunity as a Laboratory Technician for a global manufacturing organisation has arisen due to an exciting new project. The role as Laboratory Technician will initially be on a 12-month contract.Key duties include;
- Carry out laboratory testing in accordance with company procedures
- Follow written instructions and safe working practices.
- Support R&D projects through specific test regimes
- Recording and reporting test results including deviations
- Reporting faults and equipment maintenance requirements
- Conduct testing of materials and production/prototype samples in accordance with test procedures and standards.
- Planning of material testing to customer specifications and quality standards.
- Checking equipment is safe to operate, suitably maintained and calibrated as required.
- Maintain laboratory test data in SPC system and raise alerts in case of deviations or concerning trends.
- Support customers and internal departments with information.
- Assist investigations into process / product problems.
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience in a similar role is essential.
- Experienced in laboratory operations and procedures
- General laboratory process knowledge
- Awareness of requirements of quality standards, i.e. ISO9001
- Qualifications in Science, Materials or Engineering
- Good communication (verbal and written) with customers, inspectors and internal departments at all levels
- Self-motivated
- Well-organised to meet changing priorities
- Data collection and reporting system experience
