Job description

The L&D Administrator is responsible for the provision of proactive and seamless administrative support for all L&D related activities within the firm (bar administrative support to the firm’s technical team and Early Careers). The role provides key support to the L&D team. This role will help the team to deliver a high-quality development experience.

The responsibilities

  • Annually producing a calendar for BAU activities, working with both the L&D Senior Manager and L&D Manager to identify suitable dates for large learning events and internal training. Ensuring the calendar is kept up to date throughout the year and ensuring all key dates are updated in the L&D calendar.
  • Working with the L&D Manager and Senior L&D Manager to co-ordinate all training, sending out pre-work and following up with post course feedback. Additionally, working with both Managers to review the feedback and seek to make improvements. Annual review is anticipated.
  • Keeping up to date the firm’s Learner Management System (LMS), which will include scheduling live training, updating courses and keeping the course catalog up to date. Annually, support with a catalog review, identifying where content should be archived/retained.
  • Diary management for the Head of Learning and Development.
  • Acting as the key contact for the L&D mailbox, responding in line with the agreed timescales and referring on emails to appropriate team members.
  • Keeping track of all training and records and ensuring that they are maintained according to Saffery’s data protection policies.
  • Making all future course bookings with the training provider and making any changes as well as keeping Learn Upon and up to date.
  • Support the L&D Manager and the L&D Senior Manager with all large learning events, this will include managing the registration, and all logistical requirements for the event, as well as ensuring all risk assessments are carried out. Attendance at these events will also be required.
  • Reviewing and updating the intranet in line with requirements stemming from the wider L&D team (excluding Early Careers)
  • Ensures all training is completed in line with processes, ie mandatory training and escalating as appropriate. This will include running reports and setting up automated reminders through the LMS.
  • Improving processes and discuss any changes or opportunities with the wider L&D team.
  • Working with the wider People Experience (HR) team, you will build relationships and engage with the whole team as well as external stakeholders.
  • You will work in an agile manner meaning that during peak periods of attraction, you will support the whole team with various tasks and projects. This will give you opportunities to expand you experience and broadens your exposure to other areas of the L&D team.

The team

The role sits within the L&D Team which forms part of the wider People Experience Department, reporting into the L&D Manager. The department is made up of professionals across People Operations, Talent Acquisition, Reward and Benefits, Early Careers and Learning and Development. It offers a friendly and supportive working environment. It is a very busy department where confidentiality, personality and a proactive approach is essential.

You

  • Experience of working within a range processes, procedures and systems, typically gained through a period of specialised training within a professional services environment.
  • May hold relevant qualification or be working towards an appropriate qualification.
  • Good computer literacy and understanding of relevant software. Keeps up to date on all required training such as information security.
  • Excellent attention to detail and meticulous and organized.
  • Good experience of maintaining the LMS (Learning Management System)
  • Ability to work to specified standards, service levels and timeframes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others and build strong working relationships. May be required to influence using technical knowledge.
  • Holds self and others accountable to meet commitments. Accepts responsibility for own work.
