Job description

Are you a strengths-based Learning and Development practitioner who really enjoys helping colleagues to develop their knowledge and skills? If so, either our full-time role or part-time role within our fast-moving Adults’ Health and Care (AHC) directorate could be perfect for you.

A registered Social Worker and qualified practice educator, you’ll have recent experience of adult Learning and evaluation methods and ideally have recently supervised and assessed social work students and/or newly qualified social workers, or planned, developed, and run a relevant project, service or training initiative.

Working alongside social workers and other professional staff, you’ll use your experience to work with our AHC workforce to build their skills in order to meet our vision to help people in Hampshire to live long, healthy and happy lives, with the maximum possible independence.

Take a look at our Candidate Pack for more information about the role, team and our values. The section ‘About you’ explains what specific knowledge, skills and experience we want you to tell us about. Make sure you explain how you meet these requirements and demonstrate our values, in your application.

You’ll understand the needs of the audience and provide innovative, varied and inspiring Learning and Development solutions. You’ll have a person-centred approach with excellent communication skills and be committed to building and maintaining positive and productive working relationships with internal and external partners, stakeholders and service users.

With your understanding of the current national and local social care landscape and the challenges of recruiting and retaining staff within social care provider settings, you’ll have the ability to understand how Learning and Development can play a significant part in successfully responding to these challenges. We’ll support your dedication by offering the opportunity to undertake job related training and provide support for your career development.

We are committed to your continued personal development and offer an extensive Benefits package.

Travel Requirements

You will be required to travel to various locations within Hampshire or other local authority, and it is essential that you have a current drivers’ licence and access to a reliable vehicle on a regular basis.
