THE COMPANY
Our client is a successful film/TV company with a global presence, a healthy production pipeline and a vast library of content.
THE ROLE
As Legal and Business Affairs Executive, you will be responsible for negotiating, drafting and reviewing distribution agreements, and a wide range of other legal matters including TV and digital, feature film development, talent, production and financing agreements.
Key responsibilities:
- Negotiate and draft acquisition agreements including distribution agreements and licenses as well as amendments, renewals and extensions.
- Negotiate and draft merchandise agreements, bonus content agreements, talent releases, non-disclosure agreements and similar documents.
- Assisting across the company’s development and production slate, including without limitation, commissioning agreements, producer and talent agreements, inter-party and security agreements, charges, collection account agreements, completion bonds and other related agreements.
- Where required, negotiate and draft licence agreements with UK digital platforms, TV broadcasters and new media distributors.
- Review and approve music licenses, and chain of title documents for internal approval and wider information.
- Maintain and update the rights management system and train others to use the system.
- Assisting with other legal matters when required.
THE PERSON
For this role, it is vital that you are either an established legal professional (minimum 2 years PQE) or have relevant experience and can demonstrate ability, having had several years of experience in a media distribution company, sales agency, broadcaster, media law firm or other similar organisation.
It is important that you have a sound knowledge of the Film, TV and Digital landscape.
You will need a good level of competency in drafting a wide range of film, television and other media distribution agreements, licenses and general business contracts together with an understanding of the applicable law.
