We're looking for someone to join our Legal & Business Affairs team at an exciting stage of growth.
You will work alongside two other Legal and Business Affairs Managers and report to the VP of Legal and Business Affairs team, all based in London. Collaborating across various teams (Production, Acquisition, Licensing, Sales, Marketing, Operations and so on), you’ll be central to MUBI’s aim of elevating great cinema and becoming the global destination for film lovers.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Partner with and advise key stakeholders across the business on Legal and business Affairs matters across the development, production, financing and acquisition of Films worldwide.
- Draft and negotiate a broad range of agreements with a variety of counterparties including acquisition agreements, development agreements, writer’s agreements, option and shopping agreements, production financing agreements, security agreements, IPA, cast agreements and producer agreements.
- Advise on IP and rights issues, chain of titles review and legal delivery
- Manage and draft a high volume of contracts with a fast turnaround
- You’ll complement the existing skill set of the Legal & BA team, offering your expertise where there are gaps in knowledge
WHO YOU ARE
Essential Requirements:
- You are a UK or US qualified lawyer with a strong understanding of IP law in the UK and US
- Experience in the Film and TV industry
- An aptitude to grasp and manage complex issues and find solutions under tight deadlines
- Proficient and attentive to contract drafting with the ability to take instructions on a wide variety of contracts and agreements
- An excellent verbal and written communicator with the ability to manage both internal and external stakeholders at various levels across the business
