Senior Brand Protection Formalities Paralegal – International Law Firm – London

Taylor Root have partnered with a leading international law firm in their search for an experienced Trade Mark / Brand Protection Paralegal to join the firms London team.

The Team

The IP team are one of the most highly respected around the world, advising global clients on a wide range of IP issues through the lifecycle of a business and across a large variety of matters from Trade Marks and design registration, high profile licensing agreements and brand protection. The team represent clients who have large international portfolios to SMEs and start-ups.

The Role

• Undertaking Trade Mark and design filing, prosecution and registry formalities tasks working directly with the associates/attorneys and with the partners.
• Providing support, working alongside the brand protection PAs and paralegals, on the Trade Mark application and registration process for the TIPI group, including preparing and making arrangements to get Powers of Attorney signed, notarised, apostilled etc, conducting basic Trade Mark searches, liaising with IPOs and foreign associates, the timely entry and removal of items from our database, WebTMS, upon their completion and managing any necessary follow up.
• Completing and submitting registry forms for new Trade Mark and design applications, oppositions, assignments and other recordals.
• Liaising directly with clients for reporting standard updates and handling basic portfolio-related client queries, including preparing supporting documents for regular client portfolio telephone calls/meetings, attending the call/meeting and preparing action lists for follow up.
• Assisting clients with and helping to resolve basic invoicing queries relating to their Trade Mark and design portfolios.
• Assisting the Brand Protection Formalities Manager, in arranging and implementing the training of the brand protection formalities paralegals.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will likely have between 3 – 5 years of experience as a Trade Mark Paralegal or Brand Protection Paralegal. You must have prior formalities experience ideally working with a similar international law firm or leading IP firm.
