Legal Cashier
Winchester
Salary depending upon experience (Parking also provided)
My client are looking to recruit an experienced Legal Cashier in their Winchester based Offices. The position is full time 9.00 - 5.30 and office based. A competitive salary will be offered and parking, within a 10 minute walk to the office, will be provided.
Duties will include:
• Identification and allocation of all office and client receipts
• Processing payments and receipts using online banking, cheques and debit cards
• Posting payments onto the practice management system for Client and Office Accounts
• Processing CHAPS and Faster Payments via electronic banking
• Processing invoices to our clients, assisting fee earners & their secretaries
• Nominal and matter-related purchase ledger and expenses
• Dealing with queries from fee earners and external suppliers
• Solicitors Account Rules Compliance
• Taking card payments from clients both via telephone and in person
• Processing Purchase Ledger invoices on the accounts system
• Posting of Office Disbursements including Land Registry, court fees, and other search fees
• Banking client and office cheques/cash as and when required
• Dealing with completions - CHAPS payments in and out and checking completion statements • Processing invoices to our clients
• Maintenance of an effective Credit Control system
• Daily banking
• Assist with accounts related queries on file closure
• Attend weekly financial management meetings
• Dealing with Petty Cash
• Working closely with the Practice Manager to ensure all accounts processes are compliant with the SRA accounts rules
• Reconciling on a daily basis the firm’s client & office accounts
The ideal candidate will:
• have a keen eye for detail and be able to concentrate in a busy office environment
• have an excellent working knowledge of the SRA Accounts Rules
• demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills
• be comfortable working to deadlines and targets
• possess excellent IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Office products, such as Excel and will be able to learn new systems quickly
• be able to work as part of a team and individually
• Have at least 3 years experience (preferably more) of a similar role within a law firm
