Residential Conveyancing Department

Full-time - 3 days in the office, 2 days working from home
GBP30,000 to GBP35,000 DOE
Bridge Recruitment is working with a full-servicing, well-established Law firm looking to recruit a Legal Secretary to join the Residential Conveyancing department. The Legal Secretary will be supporting the Head of the Department and other Fee Earners.
The duties of the Legal Secretary will be providing legal secretarial support to the conveyancing Fee Earners including:
Typing letters, correspondence and documents relating to conveyancing work
Prepare Contracts of Sale of properties
Prepare TR1/AP1
Use the Land Registrys online service
Stamp Duty Land Transaction Returns
Opening new matters
Client liaison - Dealing with clients on the telephone and in reception. Passing messages to fee earners
Preparing Bank transfer forms
Bills and Completion Accounts
Ideal knowledge and skills:
Minimum 3 years of recent legal secretarial experience within residential conveyancing
Excellent typing skills
Good working knowledge of English business grammar
Computer literate in Word, Excel, Outlook, digital dictation software, Oyez forms, knowledge of client record/tracking databases
Adaptation and use of forms and precedents obtained from LexisNexis
Files are opened and maintained to the Lexcel practice management standard as set out in the office manual
Clients are dealt with professionally and efficiently
Working to deadlines whilst maintaining a high standard of typing
Working in a fast-paced and busy department
