About The RoleAs a
Legal Secretary in our Family Department, you will play a crucial role in providing administrative support to our legal professionals, ensuring the smooth functioning of the department. The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of legal procedures related to family law.
Key ResponsibilitiesDraft and edit legal documents, correspondence, and reports as required by fee earners in the Family Department.Maintain and organise fee earners calendars, schedule meetings, and manage court deadlines to ensure timely completion of tasks.Serve as a point of contact for clients, handling phone calls and emails professionally, and maintaining positive client relationships.Organise and maintain legal files, both physical and electronic, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established procedures.Provide general administrative support, including photocopying, scanning, and file maintenance.
Qualifications- Previous experience as a Legal Secretary or similar role, with a focus on family law, is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures related to family law.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with legal case management software is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle confidential information, and adapt to changing priorities.
