A Local Authority in East London are recruiting for a Interim Senior Licensing Enforcement Officer.
Responsibilities:
- Lead on all Licensing Enforcement matters, including reviewing license applications and pursuing representation where operating schedules are deficient.
- Provide expert advice on Licensing Enforcement matters to colleagues, partner service agencies, senior officers, and elected members.
- Conduct comprehensive inspections of licensed premises according to a risk-assessed program to ensure compliance with license terms, conditions, and restrictions.
- Gather and investigate intelligence and follow up on complaints regarding breaches of license terms, conditions, and restrictions.
- Take appropriate formal enforcement action, including issuing statutory notices and/or initiating legal proceedings where serious breaches or illegal activities are evident.
- Experience working in an enforcement or investigative environment, with a focus on licensing or related areas.
- Proven experience in investigative processes, including interviewing under caution, preparing case reports, and attending court.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare and present reports and give evidence in licensing hearings, tribunals, or court proceedings.
