Company Overview:
Our client is one of the largest Credit Unions in the UK, with over 34,000 members. They specialise in working with businesses to help their employees save money with different saving accounts available, as well as offering loans.
Job Duties:
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring loan repayments are repaid to the business in line with the loan agreement and in line with the policies and procedures set out by the Credit Union. Often working with members in financial difficulty you ensure communication with members is processed fairly, securely and promptly, with a focus on delivering supportive service and accurate record keeping. You work with high standards and use recommended guidelines to ensure that repayment adjustment decisions are made consistently and are made with an understanding of supporting the member whilst protecting the funds of the credit union.
- Process every loan default in line with the Company's credit control procedures.
- Contact members in arrears and negotiate/reschedule repayments where appropriate.
- Process court documentation and applications including Debt Management Plans (DMP), Individual Voluntary Arrangements (IVA) etc.
- Entering and issuing County Court Judgements (CCJ).
- Attend court hearings if required.
- Proactively work with 3rd parties to manage portions of the arrears book.
- Manage the ongoing payment plans accordingly.
- Resolving complex non-payment issues
- Work with members to produce budget plans to understand their financial circumstances.
- Respond to member enquiries and tasks within expected time frames.
- Carry out administrative activities within the litigation team.
- Accurately verify and store relevant documentation.
- Direct debit set ups and management of failures.
- Run reports to manually check all members information is correct.
Person Specification:
- Excellent standard of written and verbal communication
- Confident in dealing with members by phone, in writing and in person.
- Polite & friendly telephone manner
- Ability to behave calmly and with empathy when dealing with difficult or vulnerable individuals.
- Experience of working directly with difficult or vulnerable members that may be experiencing financial difficulties would be an advantage.
- Organise and prioritise own workload
Salary:
£20K per annum
Hours:
Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm after 4-month probation 1 Saturday every 4 weeks to be worked (time-off given in the week if working on the Saturday).
