Planning Solicitor
West Berkshire
Initial 3-6 month contract
Rate: Negotiable hourly rate
Hybrid working - preferably working 2 days in Council Offices, Market Street, Newbury (RG14 5LD)
- To contribute to the provision of a comprehensive, high quality legal service to the Council and its service areas in the field of Town and Country Planning, Highways and Countryside. The post holder will deal with all aspects of planning, highways and countryside, from general advice to the negotiation and preparation of s106, s38 and s278 agreements, and the conduct of planning inquiries.
- Other areas of work are likely to include:-
a. Town and Country Planning – enforcement, policy, minerals and waste, advising at Planning Committees, High Court challenges and CIL
b. Highways – including general advice and the drafting of notices
c. Public Rights of Way
d. New legislation – including advice and research (both with an emphasis on the practical implementation) - As part of the Team provide appropriate good quality legal services to the Council and its service areas including, as required, representation at meetings, in the Courts and other tribunals, the negotiation and drafting of complex agreements, orders and other documents.
