Main purpose of role
-To manage routine maintenance activities on a specific unit (be flexible to move) in order to ensure that all business objectives are continuously met. These will include the management of HSSE, Cost, Quality, and Plant availability through a multi-discipline team.
-Carries responsibility for all routine maintenance spend on Process Units with annual routine maintenance expenditure of typically £3m pa including contractor costs.
-Line management typically includes both Mechanical and Power and Control Co-ordinators, Planners, Senior Technicians and indirect accountability for 10-20 day technicians and circa 50 contractor staff
You ill be expected to
- Contribute to maintenance strategies
- Ensure plant availability
- Own all aspects of your particular area (including Budget / cost / HSE
- Work with all associated bodies and outside entities
Specific Challenges
Cost and Efficiency Delivery
-Approve and monitor and report on overtime requirements and expenditure
-Identify and deliver cost efficiencies for Production Unit or Asset Collection in regards to maintenance Delivery
HSSE, Audit Reporting and Compliance
-Drive best practice across responsible area for compliance and reporting
-Act as Triple Goal Zero Champion for responsible area
Digitalisation
-Support the Maintenance Department in driving digitalisation through the Department
-Support working closely with IT and wider business to identify appropriate opportunities to install fit for purpose digital solutions.
Leadership, Coaching and Mentoring
-Line responsibility for managing safety of Maintenance team/Contractor activities
-Drive a safety culture and ensure safety behaviours from your team.
Area Specific Requirements:
-This role will be required to partake in Turnaround Events
Qualifications
-Essential- Completed recognised engineering apprenticeship
-Essential- HNC or equivalent, or other demonstrated higher levels of competency may be considered (e.g. NVQ Level 4 or other internal assessment)
-Desirable- Degree in a relevant field would also be considered
Experience
-Significant, demonstrable understanding of engineering and maintenance issues (hands-on experience in one discipline, plus a broad understanding of other disciplines such as finance, inspection and PSM).
-Significant experience within a continuous production manufacturing site- preferably Petro-chemical / COMAH
-Proven understanding of UK HSSE Legislation
-Proven ability to lead and coach a team
