GBP30,000 - GBP35,000 p/a (DOE)

Kerry Collins Recruitment Ltd are supporting our well-established client recruit for an experienced Maintenance Engineer on a permanent basis. Our Wolverhampton based client are a leading provider within the food production industry, operating from a state-of-the-art meat processing facility. They are looking for a skilled and experienced Maintenance Engineer with mechanical engineering and an electrical bias, to join the existing team and play a crucial role in the maintenance operation.
As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of machinery, equipment, and facilities to ensure uninterrupted production. Do you possess excellent technical knowledge with a track record of effectively helping manage maintenance operations, and are you able to undertake the below key responsibilities:
Help foster a culture of proactive maintenance and continuous improvement.Maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of a wide range of mechanical and electrical equipment, including production machinery, conveyors, packaging systems, and utilities.Utilise your strong electrical background to diagnose and address electrical issues, troubleshoot electrical systems, and ensure compliance with electrical codes and safety standards.Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergencies, coordinating rapid repairs to minimize production downtime.Analyse root causes of failures and implement corrective actions.Help manage the inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies required for maintenance activities. Skills and Qualifications required:
Relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering.Electrical engineering qulification, knowledge and experience is a strong advantage.2 years of experience in maintenance, preferably in the food manufacturing industry.In-depth understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, including experience with troubleshooting and repairs.Familiarity with PLCs, motor control systems, and industrial automation.Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in maintenance safety.Experience with computerised maintenance management systems and data analysis.Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.Flexibility to work on-call and respond to emergencies outside of regular hours. The role will be working across two sites within close proximity to each other and the ideal candidate will need to be comfortable working in various food production environments.
