Maintenance Engineer

Job Purpose: Repair and maintain production equipment, facilities and general construction to pre-determined guidelines.
Hours: Alternating weekly shifts Sun to Thurs, Mon to Friday
5.30 to 14.00 13.00 to 21.00
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, your role will be to maintain and improve machinery and building maintenance activities throughout the business.
Principal Accountabilities
1. To ensure that all servicing and repairs are carried out in accordance with Company Procedures
2. To carry out breakdown repairs quickly and efficiently.
3. To ensure that all planned preventative maintenance is carried out in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations and in accordance with Raynor Foods PPM systems.
4. To always follow health and safety legislation
5. To complete all necessary documentation that is required to maintain stock levels and engineering records.
6. To participate in all ongoing training programmes (on-site and off-site)
7. To provide guidance and assistance to machine operatives.
8. To complete any potential projects or improvement work set by the Engineering Manager
9. Monitor equipment and highlight repetitive issues, and work towards finding a solution
10. Manufacture spares in-house where possible and when required.
11. Support the engineering manager with their day-to-day tasks
12. Oversee contractors as and when necessary or directed by the engineering manager
Experience & Core Skills
1. Must have gained engineering skills in electrical, mechanical or multiskilled
2. Must hold a formal engineering qualification minimum City & Guilds pt3 or NVQ level 3
3. Fault finding electrical and mechanical
4. Diagnose circuit drawings (electrical mechanical pneumatic)
5. Able to work under own supervision
6. Work on a time basis
7. Must have a flexible approach to working patterns
8. Must demonstrate good hygiene practices
9. Be forward thinking
10. Must have a progressive attitude towards training
11. Carry out the duty to apply all Raynor Foods Health & Safety Policies or associated documentation and fulfil the requirements of the Health & Safety at Work Act and Environmental Legislation.
12. Be flexible in terms of providing engineering cover at busy and seasonal periods
