Monday to Friday 8am-4.45pm (earlier finish on a Friday).
Flexibility to work hours to support planned repairs and unplanned breakdowns.
Salary up to £38,000
About
Our client in Royston is recruiting for a Maintenance / Facilities Engineer for ensuring that plant, equipment, and facilities on site are maintained and are running correctly and safely .
Responsibilities:
- Ensure Health & Safety is adhered to and high priority in the work areas.
- Mechanical maintenance and repair of plant, equipment and facilities on site.
- Installation and replacement of equipment.
- Mechanical fault finding on plant.
- Machine and plant installations, replacement and repair ranging from high value projects to smaller improvement projects.
- Perform planned, preventative maintenance tasks tot eh prescribe schedule.
- Maintenance site facilities ranging from infrastructure, communal facilities to include WC’s, drainage and groundworks.
Requirements
Essential:
- Ideally City & Guilds Mechanical Maintenance or similar disciple qualified.
- Time served apprenticeship or demonstrable equivalent experience.
- Preferable pipe filling and hydraulics, compressed air work.
- Ability to learn bespoke equipment.
- Welding and fabrication experience.
- Some electrical knowledge and experience.
- A positive, problem-solving attitude.
- Successfully able to work both as a team player and on own initiative.
Desirable:
- Experience and knowledge of lean engineering principles and techniques.
- Previous experience of working within a manufacturing environment, preferable aerospace and automotive.
- Experience working with and supervising external contractors.
