Management Accountant

The Role

The Management Accountant (FTC) role has been established to support the centralised management accounting function within the Group Reporting team, while some members of the team to take part in a Finance Transformation project. The Management Accountant will report to the Senior Reporting Accountant.

Using excellent accounting and reporting skills and a desire to deliver first class service to customers, this role will be responsible for preparing monthly actuals for the Unite income statement; reporting upon net operating income (`NOI`) and overheads.

The Management Accountant will continually seek to extend and improve the way we use systems in finance (old and new) and enhance the efficiency of the month-end process to manage adjustments, reporting, and financial control.

What you`ll be doing

• Ensuring the timely completion of month end processes and controls including posting journals in relation to NOI and overheads, preparing variance analysis and commentary for the monthly reporting pack and producing balance sheet reconciliations.
• Manage a number of internal stakeholders and budget owners, and ensure high quality information is received and accurately reflected in month end numbers.
• Production of regular reports and management information required by stakeholders and cost centre owners across the business.
• Other month end tasks such as capex adjustments, posting Goods Received Not Invoiced (`GRNI`) accruals and prepayments.
• Maintain the IT Capex (work-in-progress) postings, including system uploads to the fixed assets module and reconciliations to the general ledger.
• Internal build and development processes for properties in the course of construction, including processing recharges and accruals.
• Other tasks to cover for team members during periods of transformation project work.
• Support the implementation of the business transformation project as and when required - such as testing of new systems and writing new process notes.

What we`re looking for in you

• Professional accountant, 3+ years post qualified CIMA, ACA or ACCA accounting qualification.
• Experience of management accounting and reporting, in a corporate and time pressured environment.
• Experience working on finance transformation projects would be beneficial but not essential.
• Experience using Oracle EBS or Oracle Fusion would also be beneficial but not essential.
• Comfortable moving between detail and big picture and understanding broader implications of decisions.
• Excellent IT skills including advanced MS Excel Skills with a good understanding of Lookups and Pivot tables.
• A mentality of continuous improvement.
• Self-starter who can demonstrate initiative, with the ability to prioritise workloads and to give guidance to less experienced team members.
• An ability to communicate at all levels and develop good working relationships.
• Ability to manage multiple demands effectively whilst maintaining high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
