Management Accountant

This role is for a diligent Management Accountant seeking to utilise their skills within the retail industry. The successful candidate will be a crucial part of the Accounting & Finance team, ensuring financial accuracy and promoting business growth.

Description

• Handling day-to-day financial transactions
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual statements (balance sheets and income statements)
• Detailed costs and revenue drivers
• Process and manage tax payments
• Organize and support internal and external audits
• Support budgets (for the entire company and by department)
• Monitor and report on accounting discrepancies
• Conduct detailed risk analyses to assess potential System and processes
• Analyze financial trends
• Perform month-end and year-end close processes
• Preparing financial statements in accordance with statutory requirements
• Implementing and maintaining financial controls and procedures
• Assisting with budget preparation and financial planning processes
• Conducting regular financial analysis
• Ensuring compliance with taxation legislation
• Collaborating with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance
• Participating in departmental projects as required

Profile

The successful candidate should have, or be :

• Studying a recognised professional accounting qualification
• Proven experience assisting in a month end role across Management or Financial Accounting
• Proficiency in accounting software and a knowledge of ERP systems
• Strong knowledge of financial regulations and accounting processes
• Excellent numerical skills with an attention to detail
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks
• Commitment to personal and professional development
