Job Description
- Working alongside a senior Management Accountant, you will be responsible for the preparation of the management accounts and the budgets and forecasts.
- You will be tasked with putting together detailed financial reports to help to inform performance levels and improve financial planning.
- Working with the wider finance team you will liaise with the wider team helping to explain the forecast and illustrate the future budget plans.
- This will be a fast paced role so the successful candidate will need to be able to complete tasks to strict deadlines; therefore a willingness to work hard is key.
- You will provide variance analysis and customer focused financial partnering to meet the current and future requirements.
- Prepare and input journal adjustments, month end accruals and prepayments and will assist in preparing year-end schedules.
- The role will involve working closely with local authorities and front line services so good communication skills and a commercial mindset would be beneficial in this role.
The Successful Applicant
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
- Must have advanced excel and systems skills- you will be preparing the annual budgets on spreadsheets until new processes have been implemented.
- Must have relevant experience in management accounts, budgeting and forecasting.
- Requires good influencing skills; you will be working closely with key business stakeholders.
- Any experience or knowledge of the housing industry/ social housing space would be useful.
