THE ROLE
Based within the Finance team, this role reports into the Head of Finance, assisting with the smooth running of the department and supervising the Finance Officer. You will have excellent communication skills as your role involves communicating with many key internal and external stakeholders in the business.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
- Weekly cashflow report to Head of Finance, CEO and COO
- Monthly revenue recognition procedure.
- Preparation of monthly accounts to Trial Balance including:
- Margin analysis across sectors and projects.
- Accruals and prepayments preparation & entry
- Stock and GRNI management and reporting
- Fixed asset register maintenance and calculation of monthly depreciation charge
- Key comparison analysis against budget and prior periods.
- Monthly VAT return preparation and submission to HMRC
- Approval of Bank reconciliations - GBP, USD and EUR.
- Internal reporting for management and sales teams to show sales orders, revenue and backlog, with comparison to budget.
- Monthly sales reports, detailing revenue split by personnel, equipment, commission.
- Monthly job costing to show gross profit by project.
Accounts Receivable:
- Creating and issuing all invoices for all departments and credit notes.
- Credit control.
- Aged debtor reports monthly for credit control meeting.
Accounts Payable:
- Providing support to AP when needed processing supplier invoices, company credit card expenses and employee reimbursements.
- Reviewing the proposed payment run and authorising transactions on the bank.
Additional duties:
- System master data control – projects, customers, vendors, analytic codes
- Timesheet reports for HR/payroll when necessary
- Ad hoc reporting and analysis.
- Representing the finance team in departmental calls and deputising for the Head of Finance.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Education:
- Qualified management account (ACCA or CIMA), although finalists considered.
Skills:
- Good knowledge of ERP systems (Ideally Odoo)
- Manufacturing industry experience
- Ability to learn on the job
- Excellent Excel knowledge
Personal Skills:
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Prioritising and Organisational Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Tenacity
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
