Your new companyHays are working in partnership with a well-established and highly reputable legal firm that operates on a global scale, while delivering local expertise. They are a highly ambitious and growing practice and are looking to add to their finance team with a newly created position.Your new roleYou will work in close conjunction with the Financial Controller and act as a conduit between finance and the partners, performing various accounting tasks, providing insight and analysis and managing transactions. More specifically, you will be responsible for:
- Building close working relationships with the partners and supporting in meetings.
- Maintaining records of expenditure and income
- Managing accounts schedules
- Overseeing the movement of shares and ensuring accurate financial records are provided.
- Reconciling monthly charges to the general ledger
- Reviewing monthly invoices and posting journals as required
- Supporting the monthly management accounts process and forecasting duties where needed.
- Preparing annual profit statements
- Supporting the income tax returns process
- Managing and improving accounting control and processes
- Preparing annual journals to support year-end close and statutory reporting
This is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday, but exact working pattern can be flexible for the right candidate. This company operates a hybrid working opportunity but travel to other regional offices may be required as necessary.What you'll need to succeedYou will be a qualified accountant and ideally have experience in a professional services business, but this is not essential. You will have outstanding stakeholder engagement skills and communication ability to build strong relationships across the business. You will have a strong knowledge of accounting processes and have demonstrable experience in basic accounting principles.
