Senior Management Accountant

Atkinson Moss are working with a growing ambitious Financial Services client in Norwich who are looking to appoint a Management Accountant to support the FD across a range of critical duties. We are seeking a motivated and dedicated candidate who can work as part of a team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and analysing accounting data and producing financial reports to be able to provide effective management accounting by delivering accurate, timely financial reports.

Key responsibilities:

• Produce monthly management accounts for review by the Finance Director.
• Assist in the preparation of additional information for financial accounting, reporting and audit preparation.
• Establish and maintain financial systems and controls for the company, including month end, invoices, and management accounts.
• Drive the continuous improvement of end-to-end accounting practices within the accounting team.
• Awareness of VAT returns and process the online quarterly submission.
• Awareness of the monthly preparation of staff payroll.
• Liaise with the Finance Director and operational side of the business in relation to changes to company processes and procedures.
• Other general administration duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Qualified/Part Qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent (Essential)

Knowledge and Skills:

• Good understanding and knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
• Experience of using Sage 50 (Desirable)
• Advanced knowledge of Excel
• Strong IT skills and MS Office Word
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Excellent organisation skills with experience of working to deadlines
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective communicator, both written and verbal
• Ability to multi-task

Experience:

3 years’ experience of working in an accounts department (essential).
