Description
- Prepare and analyse financial statements, reports, and budgets on a weekly and monthly basis
- Conduct variance analysis to identify trends and areas for improvement for prior periods and future forecasts.
- Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures where applicable.
- Monitor and manage accounts payable processes with the assistance of an accounts assistant.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to both senior management team and Board of Directors.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to junior accounting staff to allow for a clear progression through the business which should allow the candidate further growth.
- Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and support external auditors during the audit process
- Perform ad-hoc financial analysis as required by their own analysis or from Senior Management or Directors.
- Attend meetings to feedback, present or answer questions from the team.
Profile
A successful Management Accountant should have:
- A qualification in Accounting & Finance or a related field (QBE will be considered)
- Proficiency in financial reporting and forecasting
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Knowledge of accounting standards and regulations
- Proficiency in using financial software
- Solid understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
