Elevation Recruitment are delighted to be working with a well established PE Backed Manufacturing Group in Sheffield as they look to recruit a Operations Management Accountant for a newly created role within their expanding finance team.
The business has customers all across the world and is looking to double it's turnover to over £50 Million within the next 3-5 years.
Due to continued growth, the business is now looking to bring in a Management Accountant (PQ or Qualified by Experience) to work within an existing finance team of 5 (Finance Director, Finance Manager, 2 X Accounts Assistants and a Commercial Management Accountant). This role will focus on the manufacturing operations side of the business as well as supporting the wider finance team.

The role will primarily be 5 days a week in the office (Monday to Friday) and hours will be: 8.30am – 4.45pm (Monday to Thursday) and 8.30am – 3pm (Fridays)
Reporting to the Finance Manager and Finance Director, this newly created role will be responsible for supporting finance reporting and management accounts for the operational side of the business. Main duties will include but will not be limited to: -
- Preparation and timely submission of monthly margin reports and analyses
- Supporting the finance manager in the preparation of budgets and forecasts
- Providing analysis and commentary on any variances and discussing with relevant stakeholders
- Preparation and timely submission of month end stock reconciliations and management reporting (includes the investigation and explanation of monthly variances, as well as stock movements and losses)
- Assisting in the development and improvement of existing reports and KPIs
- Management of the annual stock take process and support the wider business with the development of a process of perpetual inventory counts
- Finance business partnering with operations to discuss budget/ forecasts/ variances and foster strong relations between finance and operations
- Development and management of the UK standard costs within the ERP system, including the development of monthly reports and commentaries analysing variances between actual and standard costs
- Other ad-hoc work in projects consistent with the Finance department and wider business objectives
Qualifications and Experience:
- Part Qualified CIMA or ACCA, Qualified by Experience will also be considered
- Previous and relevant experience within a manufacturing business
- Experience in margin analysis/ standard costing
- Good finance business partnering skills
- Good experience in a management accounting role
- Strong analytical skills, with experience of ERP systems and the ability to extract and manipulate data into meaningful management information
- Good IT skills (Especially Excel)
- Proven ability to work under pressure and to meet strict deadlines
