Avara Foods and are looking for a highly competent and motivated Management Accountant to join our Agricultural Team. The position is based at the agricultural offices in Tram Inn at Hereford or Clarke Building, Brackley, with occasional visits to other Chicken Sites. Hybridworking would be considered for the role.
As a Management Accountant, you’ll be working 08:00 – 16:30 – Monday – Friday
What will you be doing as a Management Accountant at Avara?
As a Management Accountant, you’ll be an integral part of the Agricultural Function with accountability for the financial control, management reporting, forecasting & budgeting of the Broiler division within Chicken Agriculture.
This role will report into the Finance Business Partner – Chicken Agriculture and will act as a key business partner to the General Manager – Broilers, as well as working closely across the wider Chicken Agriculture and Finance teams.
What will your key responsibilities as Management Accountant include?
- To lead preparation and completion of the period end financial results for the Chicken Agriculture Broiler Operations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Bridging monthly and weekly results against budget/forecast with commentary.
- Produce periodic forecasting in line with Group S&OP requirements with clear understanding of what is driving results.
- Annual budget preparation working closely with operational team and procurement manager.
- Work with the Chicken Agriculture Operations Team to understand cost base trends and realistic target objectives.
- Take the lead on yearend audit requirements.
- Drive best practice in financial control over transactions and reporting, developing and documenting business processes and policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Oversee the collation of Financial KPIS
- Monthly balance sheet reconciliation reviews
- Work with the Operations team in supporting cost analysis / project analysis and contributing across the Monthly Management Meetings.
- Work with the FBP and General Manager in driving improvements and adding value through business analysis, bringing clarity and objectivity to decision making.
- Lead, manage and coach a team of three direct reports to ensure they work to optimum performance levels and standards.
- Work closely with the Chicken Agriculture Finance Business Partner to understand how the Broiler function impacts the wider business.
- Provide cover and support to the rest of the Finance Team were applicable.
What you’ll need to be successful:
- Qualified or Part-Qualified CIMA / ACCA
- Solid Management Accounting knowledge
- Good commercial awareness
- Comfortable working with multiple IT systems
- Strong Excel skills and ability to analyse data
- Knowledge of Oracle system - Desirable
- Knowledge of Mtech - Desirable
- Management Accounting experience gained within the manufacturing or Agricultural industry - Desirable
