Key duties and responsibilities:
- Preparation of monthly management accounts. Comprising of sales and margin
reconciliations, overhead control and review, accruals and prepayments and compiling different reports to all relevant stakeholders - Assist with the preparation of the board pack report including commentary
- Variance analysis to support monthly management accounts
- Provide and further develop insightful reporting & analysis, provide challenge and general financial support to ensure robust cost control and alignment to strategic plans
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Maintain fixed asset register
- Periodic overhead reviews with budget holders
- Support the wider finance team covering accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll when required
- Assist with the annual budget process
- Assist with the implementation of digital solutions to increase efficiency and standardisation of internal processes, both financial and non-financial
- Ad hoc tasks as required by the Finance Leadership team
The successful applicant will have:
- Experience preparing management accounts
- Achieved their AAT qualification and preferably be studying towards their CIMA or ACCA
- The ability to challenge and influence stakeholders, build credibility and rapport; able to demonstrate the ability to "take people with them".
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload
- Strong communication skills: accurate, considered, persuasive and succinct
- A curious, collaborative, inquisitive, enthusiastic and proactive 'hands on' attitude
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Highly analytical
- Advanced excel skills
- Previous experience working within a manufacturing business would be desirable but is not essential
