You don't have to take our word for it, 99% of our staff told us they are proud to work for us in our 2023 staff survey!
If you are interested in building a career you can be proud of in an inclusive and ambitious organisation we might have the role for you!
About the role
A brand new and exciting role has been created in our Communications and Digital Engagement department to help us to achieve our strategic ambitions and create a world without limits for people affected by epilepsy.
We are looking for someone with fantastic creativity and positivity and in return we have a really exciting role. Epilepsy has for too long been the forgotten neurological condition. It has a profound impact on people’s lives. It is really common too, with 1 in 100 people (or 630,000 individuals) living with the condition.
The first challenge will be helping us to build an iconic charity brand. We have recently undergone a big consultation exercise and are close to agreeing a new visual identity. But a new logo and colours will only take us so far. We need your flare for storytelling and creating campaign messages that cut through. Consistently being bold and brave will help us to make epilepsy more visible and understood and our Marketing and Brand Manager will be at the heart of making this happen.
This role will report to the Director of Communications and Digital Engagement and will have three direct reports. If you have any questions about our values or culture that you would like to ask before applying please get in touch.
About you?
We are looking for someone who:
- Is excited and passionate about developing Epilepsy Actions new brand
- Is creative, ambitious and committed to helping us to achieve our bold new strategy
- Has experience of running multi-channel marketing campaigns
- is able to bring our brand and user stories to life, creating emotional response and resonance from the audience
- Who has excellent leadership skills and can generate buy in and engagement from all teams

Being an Inclusive Organisation
We want everyone in our community regardless of their backgrounds, identities, abilities, or circumstances, to feel valued and respected to participate fully. We know that inclusivity isn’t about numbers; it’s about embracing diversity and ensuring that everyone's voice is heard, needs are met, and contributions are acknowledged.
We recognise that each person’s experiences shape how they think and having diverse representation across the organisation is fundamental to achieving our ambitions.
Despite this we are not as diverse as we would like and we actively encourage applications from people from all backgrounds and cultures, in particular those from ethnic minority backgrounds who are currently under-represented.
We are also proud to be a Disability Confident Leader, this means we encourage applications from disabled people, and we are committed to interviewing disabled applicants who demonstrate through their application that they meet the essential criteria in the person specification. We want to support you to perform your best so if you require any reasonable adjustments please let us know.
Closing Date: 27th May (noon)
Interviews: Week commencing 10th June
Recruitment process: We want to encourage and support you to be the best version of yourself so the interview will consist of a range of activities including a panel interview and presentation.
