About YPMH
YPMH (www.ypmh.org) is a charity focused on enabling innovations that help prevent and mitigate depression and other mental health conditions in young people.
Building on foundations established over the last five years, YPMH is now working to:
- Disseminate information to individuals and to organisations engaging with young people to help prevent and mitigate depression.
- Build collaborations to develop, pilot and validate innovations for prevention, early detection, diagnosis of conditions and causes, and personalised management and treatment.
About the Marketing and Communications Officer role
The aim of the Marketing and Communications Officer role is to increase awareness of YPMH and its innovations with the charity’s key audiences and collaborators, leading to:
- Increased understanding of the factors contributing to the development of depression and how to prevent and mitigate them.
- Collaborative projects with health and social care organisations, employers, education institutions, mental health charities, researchers and solution developers.
- Grants, donations and fundraising by foundations, corporations and individuals.
Practicalities
- The job is based in Cambridge at ideaSpace West. It is ideally full-time, although part-time or flexible working may be considered.
- Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.
- Salary is dependent on experience. Contributions of 10% of gross salary are paid to a defined contribution pension scheme.

Marketing and Communications Officer’s activities
The role will involve a broad range of Marketing and Communications activities, including:
- Content creation for the website, social media campaigns and for YPMH publications.
- Planning and implementing social media campaigns and aligning website content.
- Contact and database management; direct marketing.
- Event management.
Expertise and experience sought
- Social media campaigns, e.g. using LinkedIn, X.
- Content creation and writing skills.
- Website management.
- Direct marketing, including contact information management, GDPR compliance.
- IT skills, including Word, Excel, Wordpress and contact management software.
Characteristics
- Willingness to learn, collaborative, adaptable, initiative and good attention to detail.
