Our client is a Commercial & Chancery set of Barristers’ Chambers based in Lincoln’s Inn. Their members are highly regarded advisers and advocates in domestic matters, and for their work in offshore and international jurisdictions. Chambers is now seeking a Marketing and Communications Co-Ordinator.
This role is for a chambers-based marketing coordinator and liaison to their outsourced marketing executives. The successful candidate will report directly to the Senior Clerk, will be instrumental in executing various marketing functions and will serve as the vital link between chambers and their marketing department. The position holds significant potential for professional growth and the opportunity to take on increased responsibilities.
The role encompasses hands-on support for a variety of marketing activities, including digital campaigns, content creation, assisting in the development and distribution of marketing materials, and event planning. They will act as the primary coordinator for all marketing initiatives within chambers and will support the marketing executives in implementing strategic marketing plans.
The Role:
Website
Updating content when required
Social media and digital marketing
Creating and facilitating digital content for online media platforms, including podcasts, webinars etc
Preparing posts for and monitoring LinkedIn
Events/Seminars
- Organisation of events/seminars and conferences, to include
- Venue and location research and booking, including contract negotiations
- Arranging catering, entertainment, AV, photography, signage, slides, name tags, gift bags etc.
- Preparing invitations
- Setting up venue, if in London
- Organising slides, branded handouts, speaker biographies
- Hosting registration desk
- Gathering marketing materials at end (this will require staying to end of conference to pack up, usually no later than 6.30pm, advance notice of these dates will be given)
- Organising appropriate follow up
- Organising a range of events including client hospitality, lunches, dinners and drinks
Directories/Awards
Assisting external consultant with directory submissions
Tracking, and advertising, all awards and directory placements, maintaining a record of them and amending profiles/chambers material accordingly.
Communications
Facilitate communication between chambers and the outsourced marketing department.
Organising and attending internal marketing/practice area meetings
Effectively communicating news, updates and achievements to all members and staff through clear understanding of Chambers and members practice areas
Day-to-day management of the events calendar
Client Database
Maintaining client database - ensuring client information is correct and up to date
Budget
Recording and monitoring marketing budget by practice group and general marketing costs
Identifying cost savings were appropriate/more effective allocation of budget.
Miscellaneous
- Monitoring and ordering chambers branded supplies.
- Diary management
- General marketing administration
- Supporting the Senior Clerk with the organisation of internal events, gifts etc where necessary.
Knowledge, Skills, Requirements and Experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail
- Creative
- Previous experience working in barristers’ Chambers, in any role, would be an advantage
- Enthusiastic, proactive and self-motivated
- Confident organisation skills to manage multiple tasks at once
- Must be able to work autonomously and be a collaborative team player
- Responsible, organised and reliable, with strong problem-solving skills
- Calm and flexible working in a busy environment with tight deadlines and willingness to attend some afterhours events
- High proficiency of Microsoft Office and WordPress is preferred
- Proficiency in LEX preferred but not essential
- Must be IT proficient
- Advantage but not essential experience of working with professional social media platforms and marketing applications such as photoshop, canva, creative cloud etc.

Working hours are 09:00-17:30 Monday-Friday
Remote working may be offered after successful completion of probationary period
