Job description This is an exciting opportunity for someone interested in events management. Working within the Marketing Communications Team, you will support the team to deliver a range of impactful and engaging events for our key audiences, from planning and delivery to post-event evaluation. Our event portfolio includes open days, open evenings, offer holder events, campus tours, information sessions, third-party events and conferences, delivered via various formats including in-person, online and hybrid experiences. You will also support the coordination of content for use across events and other channels as required. The Marketing Coordinator (Events) is an important role within the Brand & Marketing Department, responsible for supporting the delivery of high-converting activity within the prospective student journey. The events delivered support departmental objectives to increase the volume of applications from high achieving students across King’s portfolio of courses, and convince offer holders to accept their offer and enrol. We are looking for a friendly individual who has a passion for events and is organised, with a keen eye for detail and strong communications skills. Due to the nature of this role, successful candidates will need to be able to work outside of ‘normal’ office hours, including attendance at evening and weekend events (online and face-to-face). This post will be offered on an indefinite contract. This is a full-time post - 100% full time equivalent. Skills, knowledge, and experience Essential criteria Demonstrable marketing or events experience at a similar level to that required by the job description Detail-oriented approach with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines Strong communication skills (verbal and written) Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask Strong IT, Microsoft Office and general office administrative skills Good copyediting and proofreading skills with excellent grammar and spelling Proven project management experience (support or lead) Good team player Proactive, able to work on own initiative. Desirable criteria Educated to degree level or equivalent or professional marketing/events management qualification Knowledge of a website CMS and/or HTML Proficiency with video and photo editing tools, digital media formats (ideally Adobe Creative Cloud suite) Further information King’s College London currently operates a hybrid working model with a minimum of 5 days a month in the office (at least 1-2 days a week) alongside working from home however this can vary on any given week and contractually you need to be able to work 5 days a week in the office if required. The selection process for this role will involve a remote panel interview via Teams with competency-based questions. Depending on the quantity of applications received, interviews are likely to take place towards the end of March/early April. Closing date: 10 March 2024
