We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate, organised and creative marketer with impeccable communication skills and a love of all things social to join our team as a Marketing Executive on a full-time basis. National Book Tokens is a constantly evolving brand which has been inspiring booklovers in the UK and Ireland for more than 90 years. Our gift cards can be bought and spent in bookshops everywhere and online, connecting readers with the books they want to read, in the bookshops they love to shop in. We invest heavily in reading for pleasure, both through our charity sponsorships and our marketing campaigns, to create, inspire and engage readers, and to support the brilliance of high street bookshops everywhere.
The Marketing Executive reports to our Head of Marketing and works alongside the Digital Marketing and Brand Manager in a dedicated and fast-moving marketing team which commands a substantial annual marketing budget, with investment across the full media mix to drive brand awareness and customer loyalty, and to drive sales both instore and online. The Marketing Executive is a pivotal role within this team, with responsibility for the tactical execution of creative and engaging consumer and trade marketing campaigns as well as day-to-day B2B and B2C marketing communications.
This is a full-time position, working on a hybrid model of 3 days in our London office just off Fleet Street, on the edge of both the City and West End. There will be an initial training/introduction period of 4 weeks, where 4 days in the office will be required so that you can meet everyone in the team, get to know our company and systems, and fully immerse yourself in the wonderful world of National Book Tokens and Record Tokens!
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Managing our social media channels to grow/engage audiences, support marketing campaigns and support product sales and awareness. Executing marketing strategies to support product sales and awareness. Growing and engaging our audiences across all social channels. Working in conjunction with the Digital Marketing and Brand Manager to manage our eCRM programme and develop strategies to deliver audience loyalty and growth. Delivering engaging web and social media content. Planning and executing year-round trade comms. Growing usage of, and engagement with, our local marketing platform for booksellers. Reporting on, and analysing, social media, newsletter, and marketing campaign activity. Handling inbound marketing queries from trade customers and consumers. Efficient and effective administration to support all marketing activity. Occasional / ad hoc support for the Customer Service team, handling and/or triaging inbound queries online, by email and by phone. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE - REQUIRED
A passion for digital and social media marketing - a true digital native. Excellent written and spoken communication skills. Strong organisational and prioritisation skills. Demonstrable experience of creating engaging content, particularly for web and social channels. Knowledge of, and enthusiasm for, using social media platforms and planning tools. Experience of using design and editing software such as Photoshop, Canva. Experience of using the Microsoft Office suite. Intermediate Excel skills and confidence handling, analysing and presenting data. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE - DESIRABLE
Knowledge of and experience using email marketing software. Experience of dealing with customers and a desire to deliver an excellent customer experience. A passion for books and reading, and a sound knowledge of and interest in the book industry. Relevant qualifications, and/or demonstrable experience in a relevant similar role. BENEFITS
