Our client is seeking an experienced Interim Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) Projects Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of mechanical and electrical projects within our client s organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of M&E projects, including budgeting, scheduling, procurement, quality control, and stakeholder management. This role requires a strong technical background in mechanical and electrical engineering, as well as excellent project management skills.
Main deliverables of the M&E Projects Manager include but are not limited to:
1. Project Planning:
Develop detailed project plans, including scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines. Identify resource requirements, including personnel, equipment, and materials. Define project budget and monitor expenditures to ensure projects stay within budgetary constraints. 2. Execution and Monitoring:
Oversee the execution of M&E projects, ensuring adherence to project plans and specifications. Monitor project progress and address any issues or delays promptly. Conduct regular site visits to inspect workmanship, safety practices, and quality standards. 3. Stakeholder Management:
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders. Facilitate effective communication between all parties involved in M&E projects. Address stakeholder concerns or requests in a timely and professional manner. 4. Procurement and Supply Chain Management:
Coordinate procurement activities, including sourcing vendors, obtaining bids, and negotiating contracts. Manage relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate material shipments to project sites as needed. 5. Quality Assurance and Compliance:
Implement quality control measures to ensure M&E projects meet industry standards and regulatory requirements. Conduct inspections and audits to verify compliance with project specifications and applicable codes. Address any non–conformities or deficiencies promptly and implement corrective actions as necessary. 6. Team Leadership and Development:
Lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers, technicians, and support staff. Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to team members to foster professional growth and development. Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that promotes teamwork and innovation. Skills, Experience & Qualifications Needed:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; or relevant experience. Proven experience (10 years) in project management, particularly in the mechanical and electrical engineering field. Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and power distribution. Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a track record of successfully leading project teams to achieve project objectives. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with stakeholders at all levels. Proficiency in project management software tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera, or equivalent. Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations. Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or PE (Professional Engineer) are a plus. Location: Norwich
