Are you an innovative Design Engineer ready to lead projects from concept through to production? Do you strive to develop product and part designs that not only meet customer demands but also align seamlessly with manufacturing capabilities and the entire product lifecycle? You'll become the go-to technical expert for our clients and internal teams, coordinating closely with all production departments to create designs that are attuned to both customer specifications and manufacturing practicalities.
Your responsibilities as a Design Engineer:
- Collaborate with Program Management to ensure timely and accurate delivery of design projects to all operational areas.
- Lead and mentor other design team members to facilitate their progression and the successful execution of projects.
- Create detailed part and assembly models, along with 2D drafts, that integrate all aspects of quality, supply chain, and production.
- Conduct Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFMA) analysis to ensure designs meet rigorous standards.
- Liaise with Quality, Purchasing, and Planning teams to ensure project requirements are clearly defined, communicated, and met throughout the design process.
- Promote environmentally sustainable practices throughout the design lifecycle.
Your current experience which will help you as a Design Engineer:
- A degree in Engineering or related field.
- A minimum of three years of professional experience in a relevant field.
- Proficiency in design software such as CATIA V5, NX, Solidworks, or CREO.
- Proven track record with design release and engineering change processes.
- Hands-on product development experience.
- Familiarity with ISO BMS and proficiency in using both basic and electronic metrology equipment are desirable.
What you can expect as a Design Engineer:
- Salary up to GBP50,000, dependent on experience.
