Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a heavy engineering company to recruit a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their Matlock facility.
Salary: £48,720
Shift pattern – 12-hour bespoke shifts
Reporting to the Facilities and Maintenance Manager, the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer will carry out preventative and reactive maintenance duties on a variety of machinery and equipment.
Our client is looking for a time-served Maintenance Engineer with experience working in a medium to heavy engineering environment, a flexible attitude, able to work under pressure and continuously looking for ways of improving.
Other duties of the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer include:
- Ensure all PPM tasks are completed on time and to the required standards.
- Use RCA to identify the true cause of failures and report corrective action
- Improve plant OEE by ensuring issues are dealt with swiftly and effectively with an effective first-time fix
- Ensure all departmental documentation is completed on time and to company standards.
- Develop the PPM system for key items of the plant in conjunction with the maintenance planner to improve plant OEE
- Carry out proactive and reactive maintenance on a variety of equipment.
- Rapid response to customers’ demands with a quick diagnosis of the issue and an effective fix.
- Develop and recommend solutions to improve equipment availability to the Maintenance Manager.
- Ensure all work undertaken is done via the company safety rules and procedures including the undertaking of risk assessments, method statements, safe systems of work, and safe lock-off procedures
- Be aware of incident reports and work with operational managers to promptly implement solutions to prevent re-occurrence.
- To co-operate readily on the development & implementation of autonomous maintenance (TPM)
To be successful in the role the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer will need to have the following skills and experience:
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in mechanical engineering.
- Able to read mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic engineering drawings.
- Ability to logically fault-find
- Worked with lock out, tag out procedures
- Working with a CMMS
- High level of understanding of pneumatics & hydraulics
- Worked with CNC machines, Lathes, NDT processes or forge industry.
- Basic fabrication experience
