SalaryOur NHS client is recruiting Mechanical Shift Technicians to provide diagnostic and repair services to mechanical building services, plant and equipment, principally heating, plumbing, air conditioning, ventilation and steam installations and also to a lesser extent electrical plant and equipment.
Responsibilities:
- To diagnose and repair faults in mechanical, plumbing, air conditioning, ventilation and steam installations, plant and equipment.
- To have a secondary understanding of electrical installations, plant and equipment.
- To efficiently and effectively organise resources including labour, materials and transportation.
- To liaise with managers and department heads to arrange access where necessary.
- ·To ensure good standards of workmanship, ensure all records are maintained and observe the Trust’s procedure for Quality Control.
- ·To observe statutory and other relevant requirements, in particular those relating to Health and Safety.
- ·To ensure any defects in plant, equipment or the building fabric are reported through the appropriate channels of communication.
- ·Undertake all necessary training appropriate to the post including areas of specialist hospital services.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
- Recognised and registered engineering apprenticeship.
- 3 years’ experience in maintenance works.
- City & Guilds Advanced Craft in a recognised engineering discipline or equivalent recognised qualification essential.
- ·To have a comprehensive knowledge of building engineering services
- ·To have an analytical fault finding ability.
- ·To have excellent communication skills.
- To have basic IT skills.
- To be able to work on own initiative.
- To be able to work as part of a team.
- To have a customer focused approach to work.
- To hold a full current driving licence.
