Omni-Pac Group UK is looking for an experienced Mechanically Biased engineer to join us on our mission of preserving food and the planet by offering high quality, eco-friendly products and taking advantage of the virtuous recycling loop.
Omni-Pac Group is a world leading manufacturer and supplier of recyclable pulp packaging products, with plants in the UK, Germany and France.
Role and responsibilities:
· Provide a multi skilled maintenance service across the site, covering mechanical, electrical, plumbing and building fabrication
· Provide reactive and proactive service as per requirements to all equipment and to carry out modifications and installations when required, ensuring all work is carried out to a high standard and all mechanical and electrical equipment is running to optimum performance
· Carry out planned PPM on conventional rotary pulp machinery
· Provide technical support/input to projects along with continuously looking to improve equipment efficiencies and cost reduction
· Maintain, repair and calibrate electrical, mechanical and instrumentation plant, optimising both reliability and maintainability
· Complete manual handling tasks as required and make effective use of tools and equipment provided
Qualifications and skills:
· Experience in planned preventative and reactive maintenance regimes for heavy duty machinery
· Knowledge of safe working practices on electrical/mechanical building services
· Experience in fault finding, resolving issues, servicing and maintaining general building fabric work
· Positive team player who also has the ability to work alone and use own initiative
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Confident, flexible approach to work, with the ability to respond to many different situations that may arise
· PLC programming experience desirable but not essential
Job specifics:
Hours of work-
Monday-Friday 06:00-14:00 and 14:00-22:00 (weekly rotations)
Salary- £21.63 per hour
Overtime available
Call outs required
6.4 weeks of holiday per year
