Job summary

Job description

Internal Communications:

  • Work with the team to generate ideas and deliver content that is relatable, supportive, caring, and strikes curiosity and ambition in our people. This is part of our people promise and our priority to make NS&I a great place to work.
  • Use creative skills to keep our communications fresh and exciting, delivering content across our internal channels through a variety of mediums including video production, building graphics and producing compelling written content.
  • Support the delivery of events, from pre-event support and logistics, to on-the-day event co-ordination, and post-event communications and measuring the event’s success.
  • Manage the Internal Communications inbox, answering queries, sharing relevant messages with the rest of the team and filing emails accordingly.
  • Work with the Internal Communications Manager and Internal Communications Officer to keep the Internal Communications calendar updated, liaising with subject matter experts where appropriate.
  • Draft and post LinkedIn copy relevant to the audience, working with HR and Brand teams to ensure that messaging is aligned to NS&I’s people promise.
  • Be the first Internal Communications touch point for new colleagues, welcoming them to our Intranet, CHIP, by ensuring accounts for new starters are created and details shared ready for their first day.
  • Compose all staff emails where necessary, particularly our weekly content roundup email, which is essential for landing messaging and driving traffic to our channels.
  • Build close working relationships with colleagues and other directorates, and attend key working groups such as the Wellbeing Group. Use these opportunities to encourage others to share content based on their own jobs and experiences, providing help and guidance on internal platforms to help raise employee’s own voices.

Media & External Affairs:

  • Work with Media Relations Manager to amplify activity around Premium Bonds each month, specifically by preparing press releases, using data and working with regional media, proactively suggesting different ways that we can tell stories.
  • Monitor the media team inbox and flag emails from journalists and other stakeholders to the team, working on responses where appropriate and filing emails into the appropriate folders.
  • Manage the end-to-end sign-off process for the media team – as well as press releases, this could include media lines to take documents, media and corporate website pages, and other material.
  • Support media team with drafting media releases for announcements and help manage the sign-off process via NS&I’s formal communications approvals system.
  • Monitor social media and flag any relevant / pertinent mentions of NS&I to the media team.
  • Listen to / watch broadcast clips, giving a summary of each NS&I mention to the media team, drafting alerts to wider stakeholders when necessary.
  • Work with the Corporate and Media Relations Manager on the Annual Report and Accounts, supporting the production of the accounts as required.
  • Draft and post social media (X) copy, as well as creating assets where necessary and possible.
